About Us

In 1975 a family owned business trading as Mountain Blue Transport began ‘last mile’ delivery and pick up of freight to the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges, as agents for major freight companies operating in Victoria.

In 2014, the business was purchased by the current family owners and was recently renamed Yarra Valley Transport to provide clarity on the areas we service. Yarra Valley Transport continues the decades long history of reliable and personalised daily ‘last mile’ delivery and pick-up of parcel and palletised/bulk freight to and from the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges and surrounding areas.

Yarra Valley Transport currently delivers and picks up freight for 13 of the major freight companies operating in Victoria. We consolidate the freight from each of these companies in our Bayswater North depot and deliver it next day to your business or residence, from small satchels and cartons in vans to skids, pallets and larger bulk items in our tailgate trucks.

Yarra Valley Transport currently services approximately 130 towns in the Valley and Ranges, delivering daily average of 2000 items to businesses and private dwellings, as well as picking up significant volumes of parcel and bulk freight from local businesses and individuals for on-forwarding in Victoria and Australia wide (and internationally) through the diverse group of freight companies we represent.

In addition to the larger freight companies we are agents for, we also collect freight from a large number of small and medium size businesses in the Valley and Ranges and deliver same or next day to customers in the Valley and Ranges, reducing time and handling of the freight.

Our Mission and Passion

The service level you should expect and receive from our team

Once we receive and scan your freight item into our depot, our team of trained and experienced
delivery drivers are expected to:

Care for the item as if they had purchased it for their family when they handle, sort and load freight into their vehicles.
Drive in compliance with all road rules, speed limits, company policies and to the road conditions.
On arrival at the destination address, park safely, knock or ring the bell to see if anyone is home – if at home, personally hand over the freight, get a signature and name if required.
If no-one is home and the item is marked ‘signature required’, the driver will try to call or text, and if no contact and approval is made, the driver will leave a card with our contact details and return the item to our depot for delivery the next day or as agreed with the customer.
If no-one is home and the item can be left as ‘ authority to leave’ (ATL), the driver will place the freight in a safe and secure location out of the weather, take a photo of the location and send the photo to our admin team.
If a phone number has been included with the item, the driver will call if required.
Delivered with ❤️ from the Yarra Valley.
